Field service for the trades
Put trucks on the board in minutes. Turn website and after-hours calls into jobs. Send the invoice and take the card, without chasing paper or a spreadsheet pile.
Card required; you are not charged until the trial ends. Built in Chicago for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and the rest of the trades. Technicians use a mobile website, not an App Store download.
Build the board, drag jobs onto techs, or apply a suggested schedule. Assignment texts go out. The office and the truck look at the same live day.
Share a request link on the website or in a text. After-hours and web leads land in the inbox. Send a quote, or put them on the board. They don’t die in voicemail.
Send the invoice by text or email. They pay by card from their phone or the customer portal. You see it on the P&L. Premier can push it to QuickBooks.
Most field software makes everyone share the same cluttered screen. RollDay matches how a trade shop actually splits the work.
Morning KPIs, a P&L from paid work and expenses, optional job profitability, last-ping GPS during office hours, and QuickBooks on Premier. Shop ops and the RollDay subscription stay in separate places.
A live day board: unassigned queue, tech lanes, drag-and-drop, and a suggested schedule from home base, drive time, and skill. Emergency and overdue jobs are labeled, not only colored.
Today’s jobs in the phone browser: maps, start, on-my-way text, timer, complete, and prior visits. There is no App Store or Google Play app to download. Billing and dispatch setup stay off the tech login. They can add the site to the home screen.
Your customers are not staff. They get the Customer Portal for jobs, invoices, estimates, and their service plan.
This is the shipped product: dispatch through history, estimates, SMS, a customer portal, optional job profitability, analytics, maintenance agreements, and QuickBooks on Premier. Not a roadmap collage.
Unassigned work on the left, each tech in a column. Drag jobs, open the sheet, text assignment, mark on-my-way. The board updates in realtime so two people are not working from a stale day.
RollDay proposes a first-pass day from home bases, drive time, skill, and job mix. You apply it. The board never auto-assigns behind your back.
Today’s list, Maps, customer phone, unit details, and last visits in the browser. Not a native iPhone or Android app. Start job starts the timer and can text that you arrived. Finish job writes the service record.
Assignment and on-my-way texts with STOP / YES / NO. Consent lives on the customer. This is dispatch SMS, not a marketing blast.
Draft from the price book, send by text or email. Accept puts the job in the schedule queue. Decline is recorded. No more quoting in a thread nobody can find later.
Share a public request form from the website or a text. Quote requests: staff send an estimate; when the customer accepts, the job waits in a schedule queue. Service requests: approve onto the board, or dismiss.
Your customers sign in with a one-time email or text link. They see jobs, invoices, estimates, and their service plan, and can pay a sent invoice or accept a quote without calling the shop.
CSV import, equipment on file, last-service date, and searchable completed work. When someone asks what you did last winter, you are not digging through a group chat.
Priced items on jobs and estimates. Owner expense log by category. Analytics P&L from paid invoices minus expenses, with this month vs last month.
Set an internal hourly cost on technicians. Dispatch and analytics then show projected vs actual labor, materials, and margin. Hidden until you opt in. Rates stay owner-only.
Add recurring coverage, schedule placeholder visits, pause or renew, and see annualized run-rate on the P&L. QuickBooks is not required.
Today’s revenue, jobs, and utilization, plus a weekly chart, tech leaderboard, and last-ping locations during office hours. Location comes from the technician mobile website in the browser, not a native GPS or App Store app.
On Premier, connect QBO: two-way customers, pull employees and 1099 vendors onto the roster, push paid invoices. RollDay stays the shop; QuickBooks stays the books.
Plenty of tools schedule a job. RollDay is opinionated about how a trade crew actually gets through a day.
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, garage door, and pool & spa each get the fields that job actually needs, not a generic “job type” and a notes dump.
Owners land on the hub, dispatchers on the board, techs on the mobile website. The truck does not see billing. The office does not pretend it is in the van.
Suggested schedules are a first pass you apply. Routes are something you show. Nothing silently reshuffles the crew while you are on the phone.
Emergency and overdue are labeled, not only painted. The board is colorblind-safe on purpose. Meaning is never red versus green alone.
Step 1
Requests and estimates land in the office. Dispatch drags jobs, or applies a suggested schedule, and texts assignment.
Step 2
The tech starts the job on the mobile website. The customer can get an on-my-way text. During office hours the office can see last ping time and location from that same browser session.
Step 3
Complete writes history. Customers can open the portal for the job, invoice, or estimate. Paid work and expenses show up on the P&L. On Premier, paid invoices can push to QuickBooks.
